Fixed Partner

Foundation - ‘Learn, Build, Grow’

Competitors should show the key SILC Foundation techniques using the eight movements in the Foundation syllabus. This category is about showing the basic skills and techniques that SILC is built on. The set movements help dancers focus on doing each technique clearly, with control and consistency.

The eight movements can be danced in any order. Dancers can link them together creatively using the start, middle, or end of each movement, use simple transitions. This gives competitors some choice in how they build their dance, while staying within the Foundation rules.

Judges will only look at the quality of the SILC Foundation technique shown through these movements. Extra moves outside the eight set movements, musicality, complex choreography, and performance style will not be judged. Competitors should still keep clear timing and rhythm throughout.

This section is recommended for those who have danced SILC for six months or more but do not wish to compete with the Elite dancers. Dive into the competitive spirit and discover the joy of dancing SILC in this dynamic and supportive environment!
